Harry Plate (born October 18, 1853 in Hanover ; † April 29, 1939 there ) was a German master plumber and long-time chairman of the Chamber of Crafts in Hanover.

Harry Plate was a master plumber and chairman of the Chamber of Crafts in Hanover, and in 1900 he became President of the newly founded German Crafts and Trade Days . On December 15, 1910, the Prussian State Ministry negotiated the representation of the estates in the Prussian manor house . The craft should be represented in the future, but not the workers, since their professional organizations are largely anti-state. At the suggestion of the Prussian Minister for Trade and Industry on January 4, 1911, Harry Plate was appointed a member of the Prussian Manor in 1911 and held this position until 1918. In 1911 he was a board member of the Reichsdeutscher Mittelstandsverband , and in 1912 a board member of the German Armed Forces Association . From 1919 to 1924 he was a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council .

For the 25th anniversary of the German Crafts Day, Harry Plate was awarded the highest distinction of the German Empire in 1925 , the eagle shield of the German Empire , but in a declassed form as an eagle plaque without a stand base. Harry Plate was the only one ever to be honored with this minor form of award.
