Harumi Hiroyama

Harumi Hiroyama ( Japanese 弘 山 晴美 , Hiroyama Harumi ; born September 2, 1968 in Naruto ) is a Japanese long-distance runner .

At first she concentrated on the track and was eighth over 5000 m at the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 .

In 1998 she set a Japanese record of 15: 03.67 minutes over this distance, and at the 1999 World Championships in Seville she was fourth in the 10,000 m .

In 2000 she presented then as second in the Osaka International Ladies Marathon with 2:22:56 h her personal best in the marathon on.

While the participation in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2004 Games in Athens with a 20th and an 18th place in the 10,000 meter run was rather disappointing, she has now celebrated success in the marathon.

In 2002 she was again second in Osaka, in 2005 third, and at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki she was eighth.

In 2006 she won the Nagoya Marathon , and in 2007 she finished second in the same place.
