Hary Wetterstein

Hary Wetterstein (* 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian painter, composer and musician.

biography

Wetterstein gained his first musical experience in school bands. After graduating, he took part in band projects and played with musicians such as Roland Neuwirth and Karl Ratzer .

From 1986 he played in Die Gumpendorfer Buam , formed his own Wetterstein Band and made his first records. From 1990 he went on tour as a blues musician. In 1995, Wetterstein started singing in German. In 1990 he performed with John Hammond at the Blues Festival in Patras , and in 1992 he went on tour in Spain with Dr. Feelgood and was represented at blues festivals in the Netherlands and Poland.

1993 followed several appearances at festivals in Spain, also in 1994. In the same year he was involved in the New Orleans Festival in the USA. In the following years he played in Germany, Spain and other European countries. Since 2002, the center of his life has been in Vienna again.

The Rhein-Zeitung described Wetterstein in 2001 as an “absolute blues rarity”.
