The Haudersmühle is a wasteland in the district of Michelau in the Steigerwald in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt .
Geographical location
The Haudersmühle is located on the Volkach , in the far west of the Michelau municipality. Some distance away is Hundelshausen in the north and Prüßberg in the northeast . The east and south-east are occupied by Michelau. The district of Dingolshausen begins in the west , the districts of Volkachsmühle and Mittelmühle , also on the Volkachbach, are closest to Haudersmühle.
The closest larger towns are Gerolzhofen , which is about 5 kilometers away, and Haßfurt , which is about 15 kilometers away.
history
The Haudersmühle was first mentioned in the 14th century. It was used as a grain and sawmill at the same time and got its name from the fact that the trunks had to be transported out of the woods by horse and cart , " hovered ". In 1856 the Finster family took over the mill. She ran the mill for three generations before Ferdinand Finster had to shut it down in 1956. Today the buildings are used as residential buildings.
Attractions
Only two millstones set into a wall remind of the mill. In addition, the Haudersmüller built a small field chapel as a simple saddle roof structure in the 18th century . There is also a wayside shrine from 1519 with the crucifixion of Christ in its attachment in the hallway of the mill. On the back the saints Laurentius and Christoph are depicted. A bishop and a saint form the side figures.
