Building history and architecture
A grocery store was housed here. House no. 45 belonged to the merchant Konstantin Graf at the beginning of the 20th century. He had the building demolished in 1907 and replaced by a new building from 1907 to 1908. Konstantin Graf hired the Elsdorf master builder Heinrich Wolff as an architect. Colonial goods dealer Konstantin Graf also ran a manufacture and furniture shop here. The original facade of the second floor of the residential and commercial building has been preserved. Originally this six-axis building had plastered cuboids in the lower part of the facade , the upper part was provided with Art Nouveau elements. The entire ground floor was used as a shop, the private wing was on the upper floor.
In 1919 Konstantin Graf sold the property to the district electricity works. According to the address book from 1934, the district savings bank director Gottfried Kaiser lived here.
