Bueil (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bueil was a family of the French nobility.

history

It appears at the beginning of the 14th century as lords of Bueil-en-Touraine and at the beginning of the 15th century as heirs to the county of Sancerre . The most important members of the Bueil family can be found in these generations, above all Jean V. de Bueil , who together with Jeanne d'Arc achieved the surrender of Orléans .

The family managed to hold Sancerre for six generations. René von Bueil, the last Count of Sancerre, sold Sancerre to Henri II. De Bourbon, prince de Condé . In 1665 the count's line of the family died out.
