Haus Raeren , also called Haus Schwartzenberg, is located in the Belgian municipality of Raeren , in the immediate vicinity of Raeren Castle .

The fortified residential tower surrounded by a moat was built in the 14th century. Only a few changes were made over the centuries, only larger windows were installed and another roof was put on, which covers an old battlement. The old moat fed by the Itter and the farm yard are still there.

The first known owner was a Carsilius von der Roetschen around 1400, whose daughter married Emmerich von Bastenach (Emeric de Bastogne, whose family held the Mayeurie of the city of Bastogne ). In 1443 ownership passed to the son of the same name from this marriage. After various changes of ownership, Haus Raeren remained in the possession of the von Schwartzenberg family in the 16th and 17th centuries.

In 1859 Leonard Jardon, husband of Cornelia de Nys, daughter of the then owner of the neighboring castle Raeren and sister of Karl de Nys , became the owner of the property. After a forced sale, Haus Raeren came into the possession of the Aachen hotelier Gerhard Nöcken in 1913. In 1917 it was bought by the main teacher Jean Blank from Raeren, father of the painter André Blank , in whose family the property is still located today.
