The house on the spruce is a refuge in the Palatinate Forest managed by the Sankt Martin local association of the Palatinate Forest Association . It is located in the southern part of the Haardt in the Sankt Martiner valley . The hut is at an altitude of 400 m . At the hut there is a sand well, the source of which is not far away.
Access and walks
The hut is close to the Totenkopfhöhenstrasse from St. Martin to Breitenstein . There is a parking lot for hikers in the immediate vicinity. The Kalmit summit (672 m) can be reached from the hut via various routes. A western route runs over the Wegspinne Hüttenhohl , the southern route through the Woiseltal. Both variants can run over the Hüttenberg (591 m) with the Felsenmeer. As a starting point for further hikes, destinations can be reached via the nearby Wegspinne at the St. Martiner Hütte (486 m) to the Hochberg (636 m) or to the 600 m hiking area around the Morschenberg (608 m), Schafkopf (617 m) and Rotsohlberg (607 m) can be reached. In the immediate vicinity, in a wet meadow of the Kropsbach, is the landscape pond , around which a signposted nature trail leads. The neighboring huts of the Palatinate Forest Association are the Kalmithaus , the Totenkopfhütte and the Edenkobener Hütte am Hüttenbrunnen .
