Haymo Empl (* 1971 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss writer and presenter. Actually Heimo Peter Empl jun., Son of the CVP politician and large municipal councilor Haymo Empl sen. from Winterthur.

Life

Empl worked as a radio and television presenter and editor a. a. at the private broadcaster Star TV . He is also a novelist . He wrote a bestseller with his first work Anthrax , which was followed by the books Atilla and Belladonna . At the Frankfurt Book Fair , he caused outrage when he handled dummies that could be mistaken for anthrax . His books are satirical, socially critical crime novels , which he u. a. presented on German television. Empl repeatedly causes scandals, for example in 2002 during a moderation in the Zurich high society club and FIFA restaurant "Sonnenberg" with guests Sir Peter Ustinov , bestselling author Gaby Hauptmann and the Indian ambassador Niranjan N. Desai; Empl allegedly asked the audience for attention with the following words: "All the ladies in the audience who don't have silicone or botox on their faces ... are allowed to continue chatting. The rest ... keep silent."

From 2006 to 2009 Empl worked regularly as a journalist for the Tages-Anzeiger and sporadically for the tabloid "Blick", from 2009 to 2010 Empl introduced the format radio as moderation manager at the Schaffhausen local radio station Radio Munot . Haymo Empl has been a freelance employee of the Neue Zuger Zeitung since 2014, where he writes for the culture department. Haymo Empl lives in Zurich . His sister Tina Wintle-Empl (* 1974 in Winterthur ) worked for 15 years as an editor and presenter for the radio station Radio 24, among others, and has been working for the “ Glarner Woche ” since January 2011 . She has published various texts about travel and football and has been the editor-in-chief of Glarner Woche since 2014. Haymo Empl's brother Andreas (* 1979 in Winterthur) is a photographer and video artist. All three siblings also work under various pseudonyms . Since autumn 2018, Haymo Empl can be seen regularly as a home shopping TV presenter in the "Premium Shopping" channel on 3+, 4+ and S1.
