Heavy-Current is a Bielefeld- based music project that was founded in 1999. They describe their style as Synth Rock , a mixture of the latest electronics and alternative rock .
history
Heavy-Current, founded by Jan Weisbrod in 1999 as an electro project, now describe their style as Synth Rock , which is defined from elements of electronic music and rock music. Heavy-Current use music as a mouthpiece to present their point of view about people, their mistakes, fears and their fate. The debut Smashed World made it possible for Heavy-Current to make some festival appearances, including at Tierra Electrica '99, with Hocico , KIFOTH and Culture Kulture, or for E-Craft.
With money-pulated a new chapter in the band's history began in 2000 - the songs became more danceable and experimental. With this CD they appeared at various festivals, such as the “1. Fanzelten ”or at the“ Benefit Festival in favor of the flood victims ”in the Dresden bunker. In autumn 2002 the EP firestorm followed , which deals with the bombing raid on Dresden in 1945.
In 2003 they performed with Kirlian Kamera, KiEw and Das Ich . On the current concept album the-cage-compl-X , which was presented at Radio Eins Live, Heavy-Current present themselves in the 12 tracks danceable and catchy. the-cage-compl-X is the result of sound experiments and various influences from the electro scene.
Since 2004 there is a completely new line-up at Heavy-Current with Micha (guitar), Nook (drums) and Steve (keyboard, vocals). Together they played u. a. with The Last Dance and at the Secret Garden Festival 2005, where the material for the new DVD was shot.
The album Edacious, produced by Erik Grösch, will be released on September 15, 2006 . Engagements at festivals followed with bands like Apoptygma Berzerk , XPQ 21, Joachim Witt and Scream Silence . A music video was shot for DBN , a song from the album , which was shown on TV in Canada.
A music video was also produced for the self-produced EP Ratrace . Both were released on September 12, 2008 and represent the interface to the upcoming album. From then on, Heavy-Current are a trio consisting of Nook, Felix and Jan.
On March 20, 2009 Heavy-Current released the album Push The Fire . They start a series of concerts with bands like last instance , Diary of Dreams and Project Pitchfork through Germany , Switzerland and Austria .
