Hedwig Lülsdorf

Hedwig Lülsdorf (birth name Hedwig Spengler ; * March 5, 1935 , † December 28, 1998 in Alflen ) was a German local politician ( SPD ) and homeland researcher.

Hedwig Lülsdorf was elected to the Verbandsgemeinderat of the Verbandsgemeinde Ulmen in 1969. She was the first woman there. She was a member of the council until 1989. She was a member of the district council of Cochem-Zell from 1994 until her death as a member of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1975 to 1983 she was chairwoman of the Alflen sports club. In 1979 she was elected to the local council . From 1984 she was second alderman and from August 1989 local mayor of Alfen. In 1986 she published an illustrated book by Alflen and in 1991 the local history book "Alfler Dorfgeschichten". In 1997 she initiated the establishment of the “Heimatverein Alflen”, which in the first year of its existence set up the “Heimatmuseum Alflen” in the attic of the former school building built in 1846 and has been running it ever since.

For her voluntary work, she received the coat of arms plate of the Ulmen community in 1989 and the Freiherr-vom-Stein plaque of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1998 .

Hedwig Lülsdorf was married and had several children. She died on December 28, 1998 of a bone tumor .

The former social democratic member of the European Parliament Ralf Walter had donated the "Hedwig Lülsdorf Honorary Award" and awarded it at least nine times during his time as a member of parliament.
