Hege Nilssen (born August 27, 1974 ) is a former Norwegian biathlete and cross-country skier .

Hege Nilssen started for Gruben IL and initially started in cross-country skiing. Here she competed in lower-class FIS and Continental Cup races between 1997 and 2002 . She contested her first race in the 5-kilometer freestyle in Meraaker in mid-December 1997 , in the Continental Cup , and finished 18th. Almost exactly three months later, she made her first and only World Cup competition at Holmenkollen in Oslo . Over the 30-kilometer classic, Nilssen missed out on the points by eleven places. In January 1990, the Norwegian won a 15-kilometer Continental Cup freestyle race in Valkeakoski . In March of that year she achieved second place in Sapporo in the 10-kilometer Continental Cup freestyle behind Midori Furusawa and thus also a second podium finish. Nevertheless, she was unable to establish herself in the Norwegian national cross-country skiing team in the long term and switched to biathlon for the 2001/02 season .

Already in her first season Nilssen was used in the European Cup and achieved second place with Evelyn Lauvstad Hanevold , Borghild Ouren and Tora Berger behind the German and in front of the Czech representation. The most successful season was the 2002/03 competition year . In half a dozen European Cup races she achieved single-digit results, in Ridnaun she won a sprint race ahead of her compatriots Liv-Kjersti Eikeland and Ann Helen Grande . In the overall ranking of the season, she reached seventh place. The high point of his career was the 2003 European Championships in Forni Avoltri , where Nilssen was 27th in the sprint and 24th in the pursuit. She did not end the individual. The Norwegian didn't have any other missions after that.
