Heidemarie Rest-Hinterseer (born February 23, 1959 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ). In the 22nd legislative period (2002 to 2006) she was a member of the National Council as well as regional and tourism spokeswoman. Heidi Rest-Hinterseer has been managing director of the Salzburg green electricity exchange since 2007.

education

Heidemarie Rest-Hinterseer attended elementary, secondary and middle school in Saalfelden and Salzburg between 1965 and 1977 and then trained as a social worker at the Academy for Social Work in Vienna until 1979. Between 1983 and 1984, Rest-Hinterseer also completed training in regional support. In 2007 Rest-Hinterseer passed the diploma examination at the FH St. Pölten.

Professional background

After graduating from the Social Academy, Rest-Hinterseer initially worked as a social worker at the Zell am See youth welfare office until 1985 and set up a youth center in Saalfelden. She then moved to the Neustart association as a probation officer and in 1987 also became a farmer in Dorfgastein . From 1995 she began to set up the PAP (project for long-term unemployed) in Pongau . From 1997 on, Rest-Hinterseer set up a women's counseling and meeting center in Altenmarkt , and in 1998 a social network in Pongau.

Political career

During her time at the Social Academy in Vienna, Rest-Hinterseer worked with the Vienna Organization Against Nuclear Power Plants (WOGA), 1979–1982 with the initiative against Pinzgau nuclear power plants. From 1981 she got involved with the mountain farmers' and mountain farmers' association ÖBV and from 1985 on with the European farmers' coordination CPE. In 1993, Rest-Hinterseer founded the Independent List for Dorfgastein (now Green Dorfgastein ), which she represented as a member of the municipal council from 1999 to 2004. From 1999 she is also a member of the board of the Salzburg Greens . In the National Council elections in 2002 , Rest-Hinterseer won the first mandate of the Salzburg Greens for the National Council. In 2004 the Grünen Dorfgastein won an additional mandate, and in that year Rest-Hinterseer founded the Green Farmers Salzburg. In 2006, Rest-Hinterseer left the National Council after surprisingly losing to the then country manager Birgit Schatz in the internal elections of the Greens for the position on the state nomination .
