Life

Heike Barth started taking piano lessons as a teenager and writing her own songs. Her debut album was recorded in England at the age of 17. It was produced by Mike Weller and was released under the title I want to be like a tree ... on the Christian music label Lord Records . As the lead singer of the rock band Pieces , she went on a European tour at the end of 1984, on which the live album Face To Face , released by Pila Music the following year, was recorded. With her next band, Shell And The Ocean , she gained a foothold in the secular music market with a contract with EMI . In 1999 she landed with the hip hop formation and the chart breaker Down Low with the single Once Upon A Time on the fourth place of the pop charts in Germany. She has worked both live and in the studio with international artists such as Mark Knopfler , Sarah Brightman and Mariah Carey . In addition, she continued to be involved in the Christian music scene. She has worked on numerous stylistically different projects such as oratorios and cantatas, but also gospel, pop and worship with Christian singers such as Jan Vering , Arne Kopfermann and Siegfried Fietz as well as music producers such as Klaus Heizmann , Jochen Rieger and Gerhard Schnitter . Since the end of 2017 Cyra has been working again as a singer, musician and composer abroad (USA, Norway), including in Germany, after several years of engagement.
