Heike Grimm

Heike Grimm (* 1967 in Starnberg ) is a German political and economic scientist as well as a university professor .

Life

From 1986 to 1992 Grimm studied political science , economics , economic history and Arabic at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London . She completed her studies with a Master of Arts in Munich. Between 1993 and 1994 she worked as a consultant for Consultant Additions GmbH and the Brandenburg Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs in Potsdam . In 1997 she was at the University of Munich with a dissertation start-up in the former East Germany to the Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

Until 2002, Grimm worked in various research, consulting and management functions, including at the Speyer University of Applied Sciences , Europe Unlimited SA Brussels, the Union of Medium-sized Enterprises eV and the Lower Saxony start-up initiative. In 2002 she was appointed research lecturer for public policy, funded by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft at the University of Erfurt, and held the lectureship in the course of the establishment of the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy (formerly Erfurt School of Public Policy ) at the University of Erfurt . Between 2006 and 2008 she acted as director and managing director of the Brandt School, then as vice director of the facility, and cooperated with the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Jena in the Entrepreneurship, Growth and Public Policy Group.

In 2013, Grimm was at the University of Erfurt with Scripture Creating an Entrepreneurial Economy: The Role of Public Policy habilitation and then took a call to the Chair for Policy Analysis and Public Management at the University of Malta to.

Later that year, took place the call for the Haniel Foundation funded Aletta Haniel Chair for Public Policy and Entrepreneurship at the University of Erfurt, where they repeatedly directs the Brandt School since, 2015. During her time in Erfurt, she briefly accepted various lecturing positions and visiting professorships abroad, including at Indiana University in Bloomington and the Higher School of Economics at State University in Moscow . In October 2014 she was appointed Vice President for International Affairs at the University of Erfurt.

Research and Teaching

Grimm's research interests include the areas of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship policy, regional economic development, social entrepreneurship , strategic management and nonprofit management . Among other things, it offers introductory courses on "Comparative Public Policy" and "Leadership in the Public Sector", as well as advanced courses on "Nonprofit Management", "Entrepreneurship Policy" and "Social Entrepreneurship".
