Heike Krieger

Heike Krieger (born June 6, 1968 ) is a German lawyer , professor at the Free University of Berlin and former judge at the Constitutional Court of Berlin .

Life

Heike Krieger obtained the general university entrance qualification in 1987. She then studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (GAU), the National University of Singapore and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn with a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . From 1991 to 1999 she worked for Dietrich Rauschning at the GAU Institute for International Law . In 1993 she passed the first state examination and in 1998 the second state examination. In 1995, Krieger conducted research at the Lauterpacht Center of International Law at the University of Cambridge . In 1998, Krieger received his doctorate with a paper on The Effectiveness Principle in International Law . The following year, she became a research assistant at the GAU Institute for International Law with Georg Nolte . In 2003 she was visiting professor at the School of Law at the University of Nottingham . In 2004 she received her habilitation with the text Armed Forces in the Democratic Constitutional State and thus won the Helmuth James von Moltke Prize . She received the Venia legendi for public law , international law , European law and comparative law . She then took over the chair for public law and administrative sciences at the Law Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Since 2006 she has been a full professor for public law and international law in the law department of the Free University of Berlin. From June 2007 to July 2014 she was a judge at the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin. In addition, Krieger is a member of the Science Council .

Heike Krieger is married and has two children.
