Heike Wermer , b. Wischemann (born May 5, 1988 in Ahaus ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since 2017 .

Origin, education and private life

Wermer grew up in the Ahle district of the municipality of Heek in western Münsterland.

In 2007 she graduated from the Alexander-Hegius -Gymnasium in Ahaus. In 2010 Wermer completed her studies in German and political science at the University of Münster with a Bachelor of Arts degree . In 2013 she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in applied linguistics, also from the University of Münster.

From 2013 until she joined the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, she worked as an employee at the WWU Münster, most recently as a research assistant in the coordination of the doctoral program “Empirical and Applied Linguistics”.

From 2013 to 2016 Wermer worked as an electoral district employee for Johannes Röring (Member of the Bundestag) and was responsible for press and public relations there.

Wermer is Catholic and married.

Party and organizations

Heike Wermer has been a member of the Junge Union since 2003 , and in 2011 she joined the CDU. She is an assessor on the board of the CDU district association Borken and assessor on the board of the CDU community association Heek-Nienborg . She has been Deputy Federal Chairwoman of the Junge Union since March 2019.

Mandates

Wermer has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since May 2017 . She is a member of the constituency of Borken II , which includes the cities of Ahaus , Gronau , Stadtlohn , Vreden and the communities of Heek , Legden and Schöppingen . There she won the direct mandate in 2017 with 41,329 of 74,218 votes cast (56.3 percent).
