Friedrich Zange was a conservative Protestant theologian who also represented anti-Jewish positions. In his pamphlet: "The equal rights of religions in the field of higher education or the employment of Jewish teachers in higher schools" he called for the "restriction of the application of the law of the equality of denominations in the field of teaching and education". In his main work "Evidence of Church History" he openly sided with the positions of the anti-Semite Adolf Stöcker .

One of his two sons was the ENT doctor Johannes Zange (1880–1969).
