Heike Zornow (born March 20, 1970 in Berlin ) is a former German handball player who played for the German national team during her career .

Career

Zornow initially played for TSV GutsMuths Berlin . She later moved to the youth division at VfL Oldenburg , with whom she won the German youth championship three times. In 1989, the goalkeeper joined the Bundesliga promoted TSV Tempelhof-Mariendorf . She later moved to the Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg . After Magdeburg was relegated in 1996, Zornow moved to the first division HSG Herrentrup-Blomberg . After a baby break, she returned to VfL Oldenburg in 1999. In 2007 Zornow ended her career in Oldenburg, took over goalkeeping training at Regionalliga BV Garrel in February 2008 and was also active there as a youth coach. When in April 2008 the second division Borussia Dortmund only had one goalkeeper available, Zornow was committed until the end of the 2007/08 season. With their support, Dortmund rose to the Bundesliga. The second division SC Markranstädt reactivated them again in 2009.

Heike Zornow played a total of 18 international matches for the German national team. At the 1990 World Cup she finished 4th with Germany.
