Holy Spirit (Unterapfeldorf)
The Catholic parish church of the Holy Spirit in Unterapfeldorf , a district of the municipality of Apfeldorf in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , is essentially a late Gothic building. The church at Kirchplatz 2 has been classified as a monument .
The parish of Apfeldorf belonged to Polling Monastery until the secularization in 1803 .
The hall building with retracted, polygonal choir and late Romanesque west tower was redesigned in Baroque style in the middle of the 18th century. The vaulting of the nave took place in 1822. The stucco choir in the style of the Wessobrunn school was built around 1740. The ceiling painting in the nave by Johann Jaud shows the Whitsun miracle . The two classicist side altars were created by Franz Doll in 1792.
