Heiner Bauschert

Heiner Bauschert (born August 17, 1928 in Tübingen ; † September 7, 1986 in Tübingen) was a German wood cutter of the classical modern age.

Life

In 1945 he attended the private art school Hugo Lange in Tübingen, before studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1947 to 1950 , where he was a student of Professors Wilhelm Schnarrenberger (painting class), Karl Hubbuch (drawing class) and Erich Heckel ( lithography ) . In 1950 he received a scholarship from the Amerikahaus in Karlsruhe. During this time he made his first woodcuts. He also became a scientific draftsman at the Zoological Institute of the University of Tübingen and led several drawing courses at the VHS Tübingen.

In 1955 he traveled to Paris on a grant from the Regional Council of South Württemberg-Hohenzollern . In the following years he had several solo and group exhibitions, mainly in Germany, but also abroad ( Porto Alegre , Rio Grande do Sul , São Paulo and Washington DC ). From 1966 he also traveled a lot through the Mediterranean countries, where a large part of his works were created.

Heiner Bauschert was married twice, from 1951 to Ruth Schlotterbeck and from 1970 to Marianne Engel. Since the death of Ms. Bauschert-Engel on January 25, 2018, the artist's son, Thomas Bauschert, has been designated as the heir to the artistic estate in accordance with the wills.
