Heinrich Ahrens (sculptor)
Heinrich Ahrens (born March 11, 1845 in Hanover ; † May 18, 1904 ibid) was a German sculptor , stone sculptor and heraldist and author on the history of the city of Hanover .
Live and act
Born in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover , Heinrich Ahrens learned the art of sculpture from Carl Dopmeyer . In 1867 Ahrens became self-employed and during this time came into contact with questions of heraldry both in decorative orders and in the creation of tombs . In 1888 he co-founded the heraldic association Zum Kleeblatt from 1888 in Hanover , which he took over as chairman in the same year and held this office until 1904. In addition, Ahrens published the heraldic writings .
Ahrens came forward with several writings local history of Hanover, including in 1893 by Rudolf Kempf designed and Georg Alpers junior laid Mappenwerk Old Hanover with 30 large-format picture boards and 96 in the light pressure reproduced image templates, which cover A. Harbers & Brager printed.
Heinrich Ahrens has also worked as the facility's inspector since the establishment of the Hanover State Insurance Company.
Ahrens himself died of a stroke in 1904 .
