Franz Rudolf Zankl

Franz Rudolf Zankl (born August 9, 1937 in Trier ; † March 27, 2016 in Witten ) was a German historian . As curator, he was a research assistant at the Historical Museum in Hanover and has presented numerous publications, particularly on the history of the city of Hanover .

Born in Trier, Franz Rudolf Zankl grew up in Nuremberg , Kiel and Cologne . He went through a craft apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and received on the second-chance education graduated from high school. He studied at the University of Cologne and at the University of Tübingen the subjects art history , history and archeology and graduated with the doctorate to Dr. phil. from. From 1971 until his retirement in 2002, Franz Rudolf Zankl worked at the Historisches Museum Hannover , where he designed and realized numerous exhibitions as curator and head of the city ​​history department .
