Georg Alpers junior
Georg Alpers jun. (* before 1888; † after 1914) was a German ( court ) photographer , printer and publisher of his own postcards in the 19th and 20th centuries in Hanover .
Life
Georg Alpers jun. ran an "art institute for photography, collotype , photolithography , autotype , zinc etching " and offered its "art publishing house" for various photographic recordings.
In 1888 Georg Alpers jun. Co-founder of the Hanover Photography Association. In 1889 he wrote in the Deutsche Photographen-Zeitung : “When we decided a year ago to found a photographic association here [in Hanover], we did not hide the difficulties of this venture, all the more because several such attempts had been made in earlier years unsuccessful, so that the greatest doubts prevailed whether it would come about correctly. "
In 1897 the " owners : Alpers & Meissner" ran their "special atelier [...]" in what was then Heinrichstrasse 63 . From the same year Alpers also made blueprints .
Georg Alpers junior acquired the title purveyor to the court around 1914 .
Works
Among a large number of works by Georg Alpers jun. should be emphasized:
- in particular photo postcards from Hanover; such as
- Lolomotiv trading cards (images of locomotives , "built by the Hannoversche Maschinenbau-Actien-Gesellschaft , formerly Georg Egestorff , Hannover-Linden "; provided with a number of technical details of the tractors as well as the edition, the year of manufacture and the number of the card).
- 2 photographs (around 1906) of the skull of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (photographs with the addition of ink: "The skull of Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz. Gift of Pastor Kranold from the Neustädter Kirche in Hanover in August 1906").
- In 1902, based on a photograph by Alpers, an engraving of the new building for the Hannoversche Bank in Georgstrasse was published in the »Illustrirten Zeitung« .
- After 1906, Alpers and the photographer Carl Hermann Bartels created a “folder with photographs from the Herrenhausen Gardens (Victoria Regia House and Water Art)”, which is part of the Herrenhausen Royal Garden Library collection - graphics, plans and other materials are now in the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library - Lower Saxony State Library find.
- Around 1910 a Leporello booklet with the title Pictures from Hanover was published .

- 1890 in Eisenach , Bremen and Groningen , as well as first prize in a writing competition on the subject of "How do we educate our apprentices " (His "thoughts were published in newspapers read by photographers all over the world [... and] are still worth reading today.");
