Life

Heinrich Bücker came from Kiel . In the Hassee district of Kiel he was enrolled in the Hasseer elementary school in 1928 together with his later handball comrades Helmut Wriedt , Theo Schwedler and Herbert Rohwer . The four young people were interested in handball from their youth. That is why Bücker and his classmates became members of THW Kiel. In the field handball department of their club, Bücker and the other three performed so well that they later played in the first team and could be used in the games for the German field handball championship. In 1950, in the final of the German championship in field handball against SV Polizei Hamburg, THW won the championship title with 10: 9 in the line-up of Bücker, Wriedt, Rohwer, Schwedler, Heinrich Dahlinger , Jürgen Kniphals , Kurt Ochs , Rolf Krabbenhöft and Herbert Podolske , Heinz Rieckmann , Heinz-Georg Sievers , Fritz Westheider and Fritz Weßling.

In the following year, 1951, THW Kiel reached the final with Heinrich Bücker. Again the opponent was the SV Police Hamburg, but this time they clearly won 12: 4 and made THW the German runner-up in field handball.

For winning the German field handball championship in 1950, Heinrich Bücker and the THW team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Theodor Heuss on December 1, 1950 .
