Heinrich Bernhard von Sydow (born February 27, 1711 ; † January 15, 1789 in Nienburg / Weser ) was a German lieutenant general of the infantry in the Electorate of Hanover.

Heinrich Bernhard von Sydow was a son of Bernhard Joachim von Sydow († 1742) and his wife Beate Elisabeth von Pufendorf, a daughter of the Chancellor Esaias von Pufendorf . The city commandant of Danzig Joachim von Sydow was his paternal grandfather. He began his military career in 1731 as an ensign in the Wrangel Regiment . In 1747 he became captain of the Spörken regiment and in 1757 major of the Oberg regiment . Two years later, Sydow was appointed colonel and battalion commander. In 1778 he became major general, in 1781 lieutenant general and chief of the Electorate of Hanover Infantry Regiment No. 6 as the successor to Christian Ludwig von Hardenberg .

As commander of the 2nd Battalion of the Goldacker Regiment , he took part in the defense of the island of Menorca on the English side and had to surrender to the Spanish-French troops on February 4, 1782.
