Heinrich Christoph Wilhelm von Sigwart

Heinrich Christoph Wilhelm Sigwart , from 1837 by Sigwart (born August 31, 1789 in Remmingsheim , today Neustetten near Rottenburg am Neckar ; † September 16, 1844 in Stuttgart ), was a philosophy professor in Tübingen .

Life

After the early death of his father, Heinrich Christoph Wilhelm Sigwart was brought up with relatives, most recently with his uncle Johann Christoph Schwab , Privy Councilor in Stuttgart. He attended the illustrious grammar school in Stuttgart and from 1803 to 1807 the theological seminars in Blaubeuren and Maulbronn. In 1807 he began to study theology, philosophy and philology at the Tübingen monastery . After completing his studies, he found a job in 1812 as court master with the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. In 1813 he became a repetiteur at the Tübingen monastery, and in 1815 city vicar in Stuttgart. From 1816 to 1841 he worked as a professor of philosophy at the University of Tübingen . From 1822 to 1834 he was also a visitor to the learned schools in the Black Forest district .

From 1841 until his death Sigwart was prelate and general superintendent of the Protestant regional church in Hall and by virtue of this office he had a seat and vote in the second chamber of the Württemberg estates .

He was the father of Christoph von Sigwart .

In 1837 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , with which the personal title of nobility was associated.
