Heinrich Döpp-Vorwald

Heinrich Döpp-Vorwald (born April 25, 1902 in Oberkirchen ; † August 23, 1977 in Schmallenberg - Fredeburg ) was a German educationalist , philosopher , author and university professor .

Life

Döpp-Vorwald was the oldest son of a farmer and landowner from Vorwald . His parents, Georg Franz Karl Döpp and the court heiress Maria Catharina Gertrud Droste Vorwald, had six children. Heinrich Döpp-Vorwald attended Marien-Gymnasium Werl and from 1920 studied, among other things, educational sciences and philosophy in Münster , Marburg , Hamburg and Jena . Seven years later he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Jena . He then worked as an assistant at the Jena Educational Science Institute until 1940. After completing his habilitation with Peter Petersen, he worked as a private lecturer in Münster (Westphalia). In the meantime, Döpp-Vorwald became a member of the NSDAP and the SA as well as several other organizations in 1933. Döpp-Vorwald's teaching activity was interrupted several times during the war years. In 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht.

The denazification committee in Münster classified Döpp-Vorwald as a follower after the war . He was therefore able to become an adjunct professor of education and philosophy at the University of Münster in 1949. In 1961 Döpp-Vorwald became associate professor and three years later full professor for education at the University of Münster. In 1970 he retired . He died at the age of 75.
