Life

Origin and family

Heinrich (also called Heidenreich) came from as the son of the couple Heidenreich Droste zu Vischering (* 1508, † 1588) and Jaspara zu Hoberg and Kaldenhof, one of the oldest and best-known Westphalian noble families . As a supporter of Bishop Ernst of Bavaria , he defended the Catholic faith. Not only numerous Catholic dignitaries emerged from the Vischering family, but also from 1549 to 1803 the disapprovals in the offices of Ahaus and Horstmar.

Career

Heidenreich attended the university in Paris, where he reported to the rector on April 25, 1564 to take the oath and finished his studies - with a brief interruption - in August 1567. A year later he was elected to succeed Konrad von Westerholt as cathedral scholar . Confirmation came the following year after he waived. On May 29, 1589 he asked for release from the dignity because he wanted to take up the option of the archdeaconate Billerbeck . At the request of the chapter , however, he remained in office and, at its urging, took over the office of senior. Because of his membership in the Lieutenancy and as prelate of the chapter, he asked on November 13, 1598 for exemption from the duties of the senior. This request was not fulfilled, but on July 19, 1615, the Chapter allowed his sister (widow Schedelich zum Osthof) to be buried in the Münster cathedral . In his will of June 27, 1619 he had his brother Heidenreich the Elder. Ä. appointed as the main heir with the condition that the share he bought in Davert bei Ottmarsbocholt stays with the family as long as the owner belongs to the Roman Catholic religion, otherwise it goes to the cathedral chapter.
