Heinrich Ernst Ludwig Karl von Flemming (born October 3, 1778 , † November 18, 1852 in Berlin ) was a Pomeranian landowner and district administrator in the Usedom-Wollin district .

Life

Flemming was a squire on Leussin on the island of Wollin and a canon at Magdeburg Cathedral . From 1807 to 1842 he was district administrator of the Usedom-Wollin district and during this time lived at his official residence in Swinoujscie . He resigned his office after he became hereditary marshal of Pomerania in 1842 . He was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania .

In 1824 he married Karoline Königk (1801–1877). The two had six children.

Theodor Fontane , who knew Flemming and his wife from his childhood in Swinoujscie, describes both in his autobiographical novel Meine Kinderjahre . In Effi Briest , a noble family with whom the Innstettens associate bears the name of Flemming.

Heinrich Ernst Ludwig Karl von Flemming died in Berlin in 1852 at the age of 74. He was buried in Trinity Cemetery I in front of Hallesches Tor . The grave has not been preserved.
