Heinrich Fick

Alexander Heinrich Friedrich Fick (born July 12, 1822 in Cassel , † September 22, 1895 in Zurich ) was a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

After attending school in Kassel, Fick began to study law at the Philipps University of Marburg in 1841 . In 1842 he was reciprocated in the Corps Teutonia Marburg . As an inactive he moved to the University of Vienna and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . He passed the state examination in 1845 and 1847 in Marburg Dr. iur. PhD . When he stood up for a Prussian empire after his habilitation , he had to leave Marburg and emigrate to Switzerland . In 1851 he became associate professor for commercial and bill of exchange law, in 1864 as full professor for Roman law , commercial law and bill of exchange law at the University of Zurich . He stayed on the chair for 31 years. From 1884 to 1886 he was rector of the University of Zurich, from 1875 also a lecturer at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic .
