Heinrich Gustav Adolf Leybold
Heinrich Gustav Adolf Leybold (born November 14, 1794 in Stuttgart , † August 28, 1855 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and engraver .
Life
As a child, Heinrich Gustav Adolf Leybold moved to Vienna, where his father, Johann Friedrich Leybold , built a new life for himself after the High Charles School was closed . He received his training from his father and at the art academy in Vienna. At first he tried his hand at painting miniatures like his brother Karl Jakob Theodor Leybold , but soon he concentrated entirely on copperplate engraving. He mainly created portraits and engravings based on classic masterpieces that were privately owned, and worked with his father on the so-called gallery work, in which the main works of the Vienna Art History Museum were depicted in copper engravings.
