Heinrich Hörnemann

Heinrich Hörnemann (born July 16, 1906 in Gescher , † September 29, 1977 in Coesfeld ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Hörnemann was born the son of a farmer. After attending elementary school and advanced training school, he completed an agricultural apprenticeship from 1923 to 1927. He then worked on his parents' farm, which he took over in 1933. In addition, from 1923 to 1933 he was prefect of the Catholic Young Men’s Association for the Gescher district and chairman of the Windthorstbund there . Due to his work in the Catholic organizations, he came into conflict with the National Socialists. From 1943 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . In 1944 he was seriously wounded .

Political party

In 1945 Hörnemann was a co-founder of the CDU in Gescher and in the Coesfeld district . He was deputy district chairman from 1951 to 1953 and chairman of the CDU in the Coesfeld district from 1953 to 1971. He was then elected honorary chairman.

MP

From 1946 to 1969, Hörnemann was a member of Gescher's official representation and from 1946 to 1948 and from 1952 to 1969 a member of the council of Tungerloh-Pröbsting . From 1946 to 1974 he was a member of the district council of the Coesfeld district and from 1956 to 1961 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1975 until his death he was a member of the Borken district council .

As the successor to Hubert Schulze-Pellengahr , he was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1969. In parliament he represented the constituency Lüdinghausen - Coesfeld in the fourth electoral term and the constituency Steinfurt - Coesfeld in the fifth electoral term . His successor as a directly elected member of the German Bundestag in Bonn was Gottfried Köster (Member of the Bundestag from 1969 to 1980).

Public offices

Hörnemann was mayor of Gescher from 1949 to 1961, district administrator of the Coesfeld district from 1961 to 1974 and mayor of Gescher from 1969 until his death.
