Heinrich I. (Waldeck and Schwalenberg)
Heinrich I von Waldeck and Schwalenberg (* before 1178; † before September 21, 1214 ) was a son of Count Volkwin II of Schwalenberg from the noble family of the same name .
In 1185 he and his brothers helped found the Marienfeld monastery .
In 1190 he followed his brother Wittekind III, who died on the crusade . as Count of Waldeck and Schwalenberg .
In 1209 he had to renew the renunciation of the Bailiwick of Paderborn and also to give up the Bailiwick of Gehrden .
Marriage and offspring
He married Heseke von Dassel († after July 25, 1220) and had the following sons with her:
- Volkwin IV. (* Around 1190; † before 1255); ∞ (before 1239) Ermengard von Schwarzburg († March 22, 1274)
- Adolf I († October 3, 1270); ∞ I: () Sophie NN († before 1254); ∞ II: (February 14, 1254) Ethelind zur Lippe († around 1273)
