Heinrich I. (Waldeck and Schwalenberg)

Heinrich I von Waldeck and Schwalenberg (* before 1178; † before September 21, 1214 ) was a son of Count Volkwin II of Schwalenberg from the noble family of the same name .

In 1185 he and his brothers helped found the Marienfeld monastery .

In 1190 he followed his brother Wittekind III, who died on the crusade . as Count of Waldeck and Schwalenberg .

In 1209 he had to renew the renunciation of the Bailiwick of Paderborn and also to give up the Bailiwick of Gehrden .

Marriage and offspring

He married Heseke von Dassel († after July 25, 1220) and had the following sons with her:
