Heinrich I. von Neuhaus (also Heinrich I. von Hradec ; Czech Jindřich I. z Hradce ; also Jindřich Vitkovec ; * before 1205 , † after 1237 ) was the founder of the Witigon family branch of the Lords of Neuhaus .

Life

Heinrich came from the Bohemian noble family of the Witigones . His father Witiko von Prčice bequeathed his extensive South Bohemian lands to his four sons, who established their own branches of the family. Heinrich was the founder of the Lords of Neuhaus .

Heinrich held various court offices and was probably first cupbearer and later court marshal at the Bohemian royal court. He was first mentioned together with his brother Witiko von Prčice and Blankenberg , the founder of the Rosenberg family , in 1205 in the entourage of the Bohemian King Ottokar I Přemysl . His tasks also included diplomatic orders. In 1213 he accompanied King Ottokar to Regensburg, where he met the new Emperor Friedrich II for the first time . Together with other court officials and counts, he received from Pope Honorius III in 1217 . a letter of appreciation on an unspecified ecclesiastical matter in which he supported the Pope.

Heinrich resided at his castle Hradec in Hradec since 1220 at the latest , for which the Czech place name attribute "Jindřichův", derived from Heinrich / Jindřich, was used only from 1410.

As the owner of the Moravian lordship of Bánov , Heinrich appeared several times as a witness in documents of the Moravian margrave Přemysl from 1230 onwards . He met several times with the Olomouc bishop Robert , who supported the Moravian monastery Velehrad . Heinrich before 1237 gave the Knights of the Teutonic Order , the church patronage over the parish church for the parish church in Hradec / Neuhaus and it undertook the construction of a hospital ( Domus hospitalis S. Marie Teutonicorum ) at the church.

Heinrich was mentioned for the last time in 1237 in a document from King Wenceslaus I , when he placed the monastery of the Prague Poor Clares , which was founded by Wenceslas sister Agnes , under his protection.

Heinrich never used the predicate "z Hradce" in the documents he left behind. He drew the documents as "Henricus filius Vitconis", "Henricus filius Witegonis", "Heinricus de Newenhaus", sometimes with the addition "de Novo castro", "de Nova domo", "de Novo castello".

Heinrich, whose wife is not known by name, left the sons
