Heinrich Johann Nepomuk Weber

Heinrich Johann Nepomuk Weber (born May 28, 1767 in Bremgarten ; † April 29, 1847 there ; entitled to live in Bremgarten) was a Swiss politician . From 1815 to 1820, he was Councilor of the Canton of Aargau .

biography

Nothing certain is known about Weber's education and early life. From the end of April 1798 he was the first governor of the canton of Baden in the Helvetic Republic , but had to resign in mid-June 1799 for health reasons. He belonged to the Helvetic Consulta , which negotiated the mediation act with Napoleon Bonaparte in Paris . After the merger of the cantons of Baden and Fricktal with the canton of Aargau in March 1803, he was elected to the Grand Council .

In 1812 Weber founded the non-profit society of the Bremgarten district , which among other things opened a public library and ran a craft school. In 1815 the Grand Council elected him to the cantonal government as the successor to the late Ludwig Fidel Weissenbach , who was also from Bremgarten . In 1820 he resigned from this office and worked as a district administrator in Bremgarten until 1825.
