Heinrich Kaan

Heinrich Kaan ( Russian Генрих Каан , born February 8, 1816 in Vienna , † May 24, 1893 ibid) was an Austrian physician.

Life

Heinrich Kaan received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Vienna in 1840 . He then worked as a doctor in a women's hospital in St. Petersburg . In 1850 he returned to Austria. He then practiced as a spa doctor in Meran , Fusch and Innsbruck . Since 1862 or 1864 in Bad Ischl , where he had settled.

Kaan was married with two children.

Services

In 1843 he published Psychopathia sexualis . 43 years later, Krafft-Ebing chose the same title for his most famous work . Kaan's work occupies an important place in the history of sexology . This study has recently been printed in a German translation.
