Heinrich Kuhlmann

Heinrich Kuhlmann (born May 24, 1855 in Geestemünde ; † February 17, 1922 in Bremerhaven ) was a German entrepreneur and local politician .

biography

The father of Heinrich Kuhlmann was from Verden originating butcher , which meant that he was in 1875 independent meat producer.

In 1895 he was one of the founders of the Nordwestdeutsche Zeitung , of which he became chairman of the supervisory board in 1911.

From 1896 to 1920 he was also active as a local politician in Lehe and Geestemünde. In 1896 he was elected city councilor for the first time , from 1903 he became an honorary city councilor, and in 1908 he became deputy city director.

In 1903 he participated in the founding of the skin collecting society and became chairman of the supervisory board. In 1912 he took part in the founding of the Viehmarktsbank (later Weserbank ) and became a member of the supervisory board there, as well as at the Hochseefischerei Bremerhaven AG , the Actienbrauerei Karlsburg and the Bremer Bankverein AG .

In 1918 Kuhlmann was one of the founding members of the German Democratic Party (DDP).

Honors

Kuhlmann became an honorary citizen of Bremerhaven in 1920 .
