Heinrich Lange (politician, 1861)

Wilhelm Heinrich Lange (* 23. April 1861 in Copenhagen , Kingdom of Hanover ; † 9. October 1939 in Leipzig ) was a Social Democratic politician, Saxon Landtag and District Chief in Leipzig.

Life

After attending elementary school and an apprenticeship as a wood turner , Lange went on a wandering tour . Since the end of the 1890s he worked as a warehouse keeper in the consumer association Leipzig-Plagwitz .

Lange became a member of the SPD and led the party organization in Leipzig from 1897 to 1898. From 1895 to 1916 he was a city councilor for the SPD and from 1916 to 1919 an unpaid city councilor in Leipzig.

From 1909 to 1918 Lange represented the 4th Leipzig constituency in the Second Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Saxon People's Chamber , but resigned his mandate on February 8, 1920 due to excessive work, as he had been appointed district chief of the Leipzig district chief on October 1, 1919 . He held this office until June 30, 1924, when he received a waiting allowance and retired in 1926. Nothing is known about his life until his death in 1939.
