Heinrich Maas

Heinrich Maas (born May 17, 1908 in Bremen ; † February 28, 1981 there ) was a German administrative lawyer and Senate Director in Bremen.

Life

Maas attended the Alte Gymnasium Bremen and studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin , the Albertus University in Königsberg and the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . Since 1928 he was a member of the Corps Borussia Tübingen . Kiel received his doctorate in 1932 for Dr. iur. He began his professional career as an assessor at the Bremen administration. After the Second World War he was appointed government director and chief government director in the economic authority. Around 1957 he was appointed Senate Director and representative of the Senator for Ports, Shipping and Transport of the State of Bremen. Until 1973 he was the representative of the Senators Jules Eberhard Noltenius (CDU), Georg Borttscheller (FDP) and Oswald Brinkmann (SPD). During his time he promoted the development and expansion of container traffic and the Links der Weser port in Bremen. At the same time he was the Senate Commissioner for Foreign Affairs. From 1955 he chaired the seamen and river boatmen's mission , which was relocated to Bremen after the war . He was on the board or chairman of various committees and associations such as the Club zu Bremen , the German Society for Rescue of Shipwrecked People , the Rotary Club and the Bremen Ice Club , which was founded in 1954 . Retired as Senate Director in 1973, he devoted himself to his hobby horses, ice skating and folding boats.
