Heinrich Milz

Heinrich Milz (born February 12, 1830 in Trier , † May 27, 1909 in Bonn ; full name: Karl Johann Heinrich Milz) was a German high school professor and director of the Marzellengymnasium in Cologne .

Life

Heinrich Milz was born the sixth of eight children of the married couple Martin Joseph Milz (1784–1852) and Maria Josepha Christine Franziska Pasmann (1798–1874), two of whom died in childhood. He married Mathilde Creutz on June 9, 1862. The marriage resulted in their daughter Maria Josefine on November 1, 1863.

After completing high school, he began studying philosophy and theology at the Trier seminary in 1849 , only to break it off due to a nervous problem and to study history and philosophy at the University of Bonn from Easter 1852 . After passing the teaching examination in 1855 and doctorate to Dr. phil. During his probationary year he worked as a scientific assistant teacher in Deutsch Krone and then from the autumn of 1856 to 1858 as a temporary teacher at the Marzellengymnasium in Cologne.

After his permanent position on January 1, 1859 at the Royal High School in Aachen, he was promoted to senior teacher in 1874 and appointed grammar school professor on November 29, then until his retirement as director from (April 15, 1884– April 1, 1901) to lead the Marzellengymnasium in Cologne.
