Heinrich Pellenz

Heinrich Pellenz (born August 4, 1888 in Cologne ; † August 5, 1974 there ) was a German entrepreneur .

Heinrich Pellenz was a grandson of Johann Carl Pellenz (1818–1901), who, after working as an engineer at the Rheinische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, founded a company for the manufacture of railway signaling and lighting systems in Cologne in 1858. After the death of his grandfather's only son led Richard Pellenz (1855-1921) the company operating under & Pellenz Co. changed its name .

Heinrich Pellenz studied at the Cologne Commercial College , where he obtained the degree of business administration degree . After his father's death in 1921, he became the managing director of the family company, which was now based in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and specialized in lifting equipment. Co-owner was his brother Willi Pellenz (1884–1953). At the height of the global economic crisis , the Düsseldorf company Welter Kranbau was taken over in 1931 .

The production facilities of Pellenz & Co. - Welter Hebezeuge were badly damaged in the Second World War ; under the direction of Heinrich Pellenz, they were rebuilt until 1950. After his brother's death in 1953, he became the sole owner of the company. That same year, he was recognized for his entrepreneurial achievements Plug Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany awarded in 1962 was followed by the Great Cross of Merit .

From its founding in 1946 to 1963, Heinrich Pellenz was chairman of the employers' association of the metal industry in the Cologne district , and then honorary president. The association house of the employers' association was named after him. In 1968 he was made an honorary member of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Heinrich Pellenz, who like his deceased brother had no heirs, dissolved the company as early as 1967 and sold the property to Siemens AG .

Pellenz was buried in the family grave on the Ehrenfeld part of the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (corridor E14 No. 30–36).
