Heinrich Reinhard Kröh

Heinrich Reinhard Kröh (born May 7, 1841 in Darmstadt ; † December 14, 1941 there ) was a German painter .

Life

Born in Darmstadt, Heinrich Reinhard Kröh, son of the grand-ducal picture gallery inspector, was artistically gifted and studied painting with August Lucas and Karl Ludwig Seeger at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich after completing compulsory schooling . He also attended Karl Raupp's private painting school there . Returned to Darmstadt in 1866, in 1869 he followed Karl Raupp to the School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg , who had received a professorship there. In 1873 Kröh finally settled in Darmstadt, in the same year he was appointed by Grand Duke Ludwig III. appointed court painter . In addition, Kröh, who was given the character of a professor in 1911, trained a large number of students. He died in December 1941 at the old age of 100 in his hometown Darmstadt.

Heinrich Reinhard Kröh, who worked as a portraitist , copyist and interior painter for the Darmstadt court , also stood out as a landscape painter in particular .
