Heinrich von Poschinger

Heinrich Joseph Karl Ludwig Ritter and Edler von Poschinger (born August 31, 1845 in Munich , † August 10, 1911 in La Bollène , France) was a German writer and historian.

Life

Heinrich von Poschinger came from the old Bavarian family Poschingerstraße whose lineage with Joachim Poschinger (1523-1599), lord of the manor on Zwieselau ( county rain ) in the Bavarian Forest begins, and 1140 is first mentioned in documents.

He studied philosophy and law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Later he moved to Berlin with the same subjects . Back in Munich, Poschinger was able to successfully complete his studies with a doctorate as Dr. jur. to lock.

Immediately afterwards he got a job with the Bavarian state administration. In 1876 Poschinger moved to the Reich Chancellery in Berlin , where he worked in administration until 1900. He was acquainted with Chancellor Otto von Bismarck . He became known primarily through the publication of files, letters and conversations that document Bismarck's political activities. He also wrote several papers on Bismarck (Bismarck as an economist, parliamentarian, Federal Councilor, memories, yearbook).

Furthermore, he issued the estate of Prime Minister Otto Theodor von Manteuffel . After Bismarck's death, he resigned from the civil service and settled in Nice . There he founded the German daily newspaper "Riviera-Tageblatt".

The writer Heinrich von Poschinger died on August 10, 1911 in La Bollène, France, at the age of almost 66.

Since 1883 he was married to Margarethe, daughter of the secret commercial councilor Baron Jakob von Landau. She was born in Breslau on May 2, 1861, converted to Catholicism in 1883 and died in La Bollène near Nice in 1911.

Honors

A street in the Bismarck district of Berlin-Steglitz was named after him.
