Henry VI. from Neersen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henry VI. von der Neersen (* between 1397 and 1407; † 1487 at the latest) was a knight from the Lower Rhine , from 1438 hereditary bailiff of Neersen , Anrath and Uerdingen and from 1468 to 1475 pawnbroker of Oedt . He was the last male member of the von der Neersen family .

Life

He was the older son of Heinrich V , hereditary bailiff of Neersen, Anrath and Uerdingen, lord of the castle of Holzbüttgen and his first wife Johanna von Hochsteden.

In 1422, together with his father Heinrich V and his younger brother Johann (Hans), he transferred a house to the St. Sebastianus Brotherhood in Neuss on Niederstrasse in Neuss.

When his father died around 1438, he inherited his father's castle Neersen , as well as the bailiwicks of Neersen, Anrath and Uerdingen. His offices and titles also seem to have been claimed and temporarily usurped by his stepmother from Heinrich V's second marriage, Jutta von Hüls, at least her second spouse, Johann von Hoemen, bailiff von Linn , held Heinrich's title from 1439, without the further one Succession plays a role.

From 1468 he was also a lender of the Oedt office , including the castle there . The pledge was replaced by Archbishop Ruprecht of Cologne in 1475 and handed over to the Junggrave Johann von Salm, Herr zu Reifferscheid . The certificate made for this occasion is the last documentary evidence for Heinrich V .; he died in 1487 at the latest. Since he only left daughters, his noble family died out with him. His inheritance fell to his half-sister Agnes von der Neersen, whose husband Thonis von Palant was enfeoffed with the bailiwicks from their rights in 1487.

Marriages and offspring

His first marriage was Wilhelmine von Wachtendonk. With her he had a daughter:

  • Katharina, ∞ Lutter von Stammheim zu Berg († 1514)

After the death of his first wife, he married Eva Grüters. With her he had three daughters.
