Henry VII (Bavaria)
Henry II of Luxembourg or Henry VII of Bavaria (* approx. 1005; † October 14, 1047 ) was Count of Luxembourg from 1025 to 1047 and Duke of Bavaria from 1042 to 1047.
He was the eldest son of Count Friedrich von Luxemburg and Irmtrud von der Wetterau ; he was a nephew of Duke Heinrich V of Bavaria and the Empress Kunigunde . In 1025 he was named as Count in Moselgau and in 1035 as Vogt of St. Maximin in Trier. For Kloster Echternach he also was in close contact. In February 1042 King Heinrich III transferred him . the Duchy of Bavaria , which he had administered himself for 15 years , bypassing the tribe's voting rights . Heinrich took part in the imperial campaigns against the Hungarians in 1042, 1043 and 1044. In 1047 he accompanied the emperor on a campaign against Dietrich von Holland.
He was buried in St. Maximin in Trier.
