Heinrich Wilhelm Preiss

Heinrich Wilhelm Preiss (also Preiss) (born January 23, 1789 in Usingen ; † June 13, 1866 ibid) was a Nassau politician and former member of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau .

Heinrich Wilhelm Preiß was the son of the stocking manufacturer Johann Anthon Preiß (born March 13, 1752 in Usingen as the son of the stocking manufacturer Conrad Wilhelm Preiß and Constantina Magdalena; † December 22, 1819 ibid) and of Anna Maria, née Jung (* December 28, 1819) 1755 in Biebrich ). On April 23, 1815, Heinrich Wilhelm Preiß married Catharina Magdalena nee Becker in Usingen (* April 2, 1792 in Usingen; † February 11, 1860 there), the daughter of the master miller at the fulling mill, Philipp Heinrich Becker and his wife Maria Christina nee Müller .

Heinrich Wilhelm Preiss was mayor in Usingen . Between 1848 and 1851 he was a member of the assembly of estates for constituency IX (Usingen / Reichelsheim), which at that time was the only chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau. In the debate on the question of the district office seat of the district office Idstein strongly in favor of the seat of Usingen, but could not prevail.
