Heinrich Wilhelm von Holtzbrinck (District Administrator)

Heinrich Wilhelm von Holtzbrinck (born August 19, 1766 in Altena ; † December 26, 1841 there ) was an official in the Prussian service and in the service of the Grand Duchy of Berg .

Life

He belonged to a family of officials who received an aristocratic renovation diploma in 1767 . His father of the same name was district administrator in Altena and a son of the nephew and universal heir of the Polish crown postmaster Georg Hermann von Holtzbrinck, who was ennobled in 1694. The mother was born from Hymmen . He himself married Anna Marie Henriette geb. Haardt. The later Prussian minister Heinrich Wilhelm von Holtzbrinck as well as Arnold Ludwig von Holtzbrinck and Karl von Holtzbrinck emerged from the marriage.

Heinrich Wilhelm von Holtzbrinck began his career in 1788 at the War and Domain Chamber in Kleve . From 1790 he succeeded his father as district administrator in Altena. In addition, he was from 1804 as a country director chairman of the estates of the county of Mark .

After the transition of the county to the Napoleonic Grand Duchy of Berg and the formation of the Hagen arrondissement in 1808/09, he was appointed sub-prefect with his seat in Hagen . Although he initially accepted the appointment, he soon wanted to resign. However, this request was not accepted. In 1811 he asked again for reasons of age for dismissal, which he was now granted.

Then from January 1817 he was again district administrator in the Prussian district of Altena .

Holtzbrinck was also the owner of the manor Schloss Oedenthal near Lüdenscheid .
