Heinrich van Thiel

Heinrich van Thiel (born March 8, 1896 in Rastatt ; † July 20, 1983 ) was a German civil engineer and trade unionist .

Professional background

Heinrich van Thiel studied civil engineering at the TH Karlsruhe . There he became a member of the Germania fraternity (now Teutonia ). After completing his studies in 1922, he worked for the Badische Landes-Elektrizitäts -orgungs AG for 5 years . He then moved to Ammoniakwerk Merseburg GmbH and headed the building materials laboratory until 1951. He then joined the Keramchemie union , Siershahn , and in 1953 took over the technical management.

Third Reich

In 1936 van Thiel was appointed to the Reich Office for Economic Development . Until 1943 he headed the research and development department in the field of stones and earth under Carl Krauch .

Memberships and Publications

He was a member of the building materials commission of the IG Farbenindustrie and various committees of the German standards committee . 15 patents and various publications in the field of general building materials and the special fields of acid construction and furnace construction originate from his work .
