Heinrich von Lersner

Heinrich-Ludwig Alexander Karl Robert Freiherr von Lersner (born July 14, 1930 in Stuttgart ; † August 26, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Career

He was the oldest of six children of the Upper Government Agriculture Councilor Albert Freiherr von Lersner (1900-1993) and his wife Clothilde von Groll (1901-1998). After graduating from high school, von Lersner studied law in Tübingen and Kiel and received his doctorate in 1959 under Günter Dürig . He then entered the civil service of the state of Baden-Württemberg . He initially worked for various district offices and was then seconded to the Federal Ministry of the Interior . There he took over the management of the water / waste subdivision in the early 1970s. In 1972 the Federal Cabinet commissioned him to found the Federal Environment Agency , which was based in Berlin. From 1974 to 1995 he was President of the Federal Environment Agency. He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

He was married since April 1968 to the mayor's daughter Uta von Weyhe (1938–2011), with whom he had five children.

Since 1951 he was a member of the student union Akademische Gesellschaft Stuttgardia Tübingen . Heinrich von Lersner was a member of the FDP .
